Haeundae-gu to meet with
sand K-culture
2025 Haeundae Sand Festival
will be held from May 16 to 19

Haeundae-gu District
(District Mayor Kim Sung-soo)
will hold the 2025 Haeundae Sand Festival
on May 16-19 under the theme of
"K-Culture Meeting Sand."
The Haeundae Sand Festival,
which marks its 20th anniversary this year,
was held for the first time to
commemorate the hosting
of the APEC Summit in 2005.

This year, more than 20 works
will be presented to show the history
of the sand festival
that turned 20 with the main theme of
"K-culture," which spreads
K-trends across lifestyles such as
food, beauty, and fashion beyond
the existing Hallyu craze such as
K-pop and k-drama.

The sand works will be on
display until June 8 after the festival.
Fourteen world-renowned sand artists, including the U.S., Canada, China,
and Russia, will participate,
including Korean
Jihoon Choi Dae Ji-young and
Kim Gil-man.

Images that symbolize Korean culture,
such as Dangun Myth (Tue),
Goguryeo Hunting Island (Sports),
Hangul (King Sejong),
movies (Train to Busan),
games (Faker),
popular music (Rose's Apartment),
mukbang (food),
and characters (Baby Shark),
are embodied in jubilation and relief.

The main work is a large work,
12 meters high, 25 meters wide,

The 20th anniversary zone

of all-time festivals,
including World Travel Landmarks,
Jurassic Park, Music Travel,
and The Wizard of Oz.
